Branch Background
Opened in 1906 as the new location for Citizens National Bank following a remodel of the Sever’s Building, our location in Okmulgee showcases the Mabrey Bank foundation in Oklahoma. The Mabrey family’s work in banking began in Okmulgee with G.W. Mabrey, Scott Mabrey’s great-grandfather, serving on the Board of Directors for Citizens National in 1906.
While the bank underwent a renovation in the 1950s, it was eventually restored to its pre-oil boom look in the late 1980s in an effort to help revive Okmulgee’s downtown main street. Inside our historic Okmulgee branch are artifacts and memorabilia on display from the early days of Mabrey Bank, including an antique tellers cage from the 1900s.
